Medical Missionaries in Rural Cameroon
Ethan and Elizabeth are medical missionaries passionate about bringing spiritual and physical healing to the developing world. They recently completed a two-year post-residency program in rural Cameroon (West Africa) through World Medical Mission/Samaritan's Purse and are pursuing long-term placement in Cambodia (Southeast Asia) with World Team.
Liz Helm is a Buffalo (Williamsville) native and former CMDA student leader who graduated from medical school at UB in 2009. We are excited to see the ways God is working through the Helm family and ask you to join us in prayer for them as they transition to their new home and calling.
Ethan is a native of Little Rock who completed his undergraduate studies near Chicago and returned to Arkansas for medical school. Elizabeth spent most of her formative years in Buffalo, where she attended undergraduate and medical schools. They completed their residencies in Rochester, NY, where Ethan trained in Pediatrics and Elizabeth in Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine.
In addition to providing high quality healthcare, Ethan and Elizabeth are committed to resident education and church planting. They are thankful for the children God has given them, who have enjoyed their own international journeys thus far. Josiah (age 5) and Esther (age 3) have warmly welcomed their younger brother Isaiah to the family since his arrival in January.
The Helm family looks forward to sharing their vision for development and discipleship with partners across the United States. They are happy to present on global health and/or Christian missions to students or church members in group settings of any size.
