Dr. Holmes wrote "All went well with the bike trip. We made it to the Atlantic Ocean in the northern Virginia coast on Sat Aug 7. Lucy and my girls met us with the minivan and now we're relaxing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Mark Hagan and Mark Hoeplinger had to rent a one-way van to get themselves and their tandem bike back to Buffalo. They ended up having to get the rental in Washington DC area as there wasn't any place to pick one up further east, so unfortunately they couldn't ride with us all the way to the coast. We all had a great time together and were sad to see it end. The total mileage ridden was 778.2 miles (to Washington DC the mileage was 634.4 miles). We praise God for the daily strength and safety that He gave us.THANK TO ALL SPONSORS
THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO ATTENDED THE August 2010 BBQ.What a beautiful summer day.It was a great day of fellowship.
WELCOME HOME Honduras Medical Mission team!!Here is an excerpt from

Honduras Day # 7
We split into 3 groups again today. One went to finish the painting job at the Church, one remained at the Hope Center to work with the children, and the majority went to the community center here at the Valley of Angels where we held clinic. All had successful days: the painting was completed, the children assessments accomplished, and approximately 300 people were seen.
Clinic was in a large open building, with the local boy/girl scouts hosting us. They were there to keep the patients in line, and ushered them from station to station, holding their arms out to escort them, as is done at formal affairs.
The list of problems were similar to the other locations: high BP, anxiety, GI upset, rashes, coughs, colds, sore throats, back and body aches, headaches, diabetes, to name the most common. One of the first ladies seen had a huge goiter, and several cases of chicken pox were seen, conditions extremely rare to see these days in the USA.

Weekly Bible Studies
Attention, all UB Dental Students:
I begin each academic year by inviting anyone who is interested to attend our weekly Bible Study held during lunch every Wednesday in 235 Squire (the Operative Dentistry Conference Room). This Bible Study is supported by the Christian Medical and Dental Association, a recognized campus ministry of the University at Buffalo .
This fall, we continue our study of the Gospel of John.
There are no homework or reading assignments. You can just show up. (Bring your lunch.) We have a short lesson followed by a group discussion. We provide bibles, or you can bring your own. I try to finish by 12:55 each week, to give students time to get to clinic/class, but students are free to arrive late or leave early. We meet each week.

Finally, we are considering reviving a Sunday evening Bible Study, which would be more convenient for students during their clinical years, as well as healthcare professionals. If this is something you would be interested in attending, hosting, or leading, please contact us.
All of these Bible studies are non-denominational groups and anyone is welcome. These studies provide a great time for studying the Word together, as well as fellowship with other believers. No preparation in advance is necessary. For more information about any of these, please contact Kathy Szymanski at WNYCMDA@gmail.com.
